About
From the time I was very young, I have been surrounded by animals- from Pigeons, cats, turkeys, hamsters, mice, fish, dogs… you name it, I’ve had it! I developed a deep appreciation for them, especially dogs. My first dog was a lab mix and we bonded immediately. We did everything together and at only 8 years of age, I was able to teach her to sit, shake and be a good house dog. Not long after that, my friends and family saw the special bond I had with dogs. Since then, the bond has grown even stronger and I have developed a strong sixth sense with the canine companion. I understand what they are thinking and have learned how to communicate what I want them to do by utilizing stern but fair techniques that they can understand.
After college I got my current dog Laila. She has been my inspiration to further my understanding of the canine world and to see how much we can accomplish together as a team. Laila has always been a very good representative of basic obedience. Since Laila and I developed this bond, I strived to learn as much as I can and have since become the lead trainer at an accomplished training facility.
During all the obedience classes I have taught, I have always wowed my clients with the bond and understanding that Laila and I have with each other. Our most recent accomplishment is a rally novice title, Companion Dog title, and therapy dog certified. Our journey is not over yet- keep updated on dog training tips and tricks and the adventures of Rachel and Laila in my blog!
